Great group of people on this trip- all Alaska residents ready to catch the elusive halibut. Elusive they were. It wasn't until 12 in the afternoon that we got our first bite. After our 4th move of running from dogfish, we finally dropped our anchor successfully on some halibut. The first fish-on was a 50lb halibut and shortly after we landed a 141lb halibut as well as a 115lb both attained from the salmon carcasses. Klause and his son Aaron, took turns battling the first barn door of the day. They did a great job fighting the halibut in the difficult situation of only 66ft of shallow water. Not too bad for a couple of pipe fitters. Although a slow start, the day panned out to be a great day of fishing limiting the boat out with 44 halibut. Weather looks like it will be switching up on us this week; Sunday at West 20kt and 6' and Monday switching to a SW 20kt and 7'. A little lumpy but fishable.

Thanks again capt. Sean and crew!!!!! I've been going out on deep sea charters here in AK for 28 years and you guys are without a doubt the best in the business!!!!! see you in July for some lings..
