May 25th (kids day)

Today we had a friends and family low key fishing charter.  We pushed off the dock at 9am and made way towards the grounds by late morning.  Our first fish was landed no later than 5 minutes after anchoring. Although we arrived at slack tide that did not seem to stop the fish from a full out frenzy bite. All the kids were hooking and landing fish with a guardian nearby.  A perfect intro into the sport of fishing, given children usually don't have the patience for a long sit for big fish.

We were really happy with the outcome and came close to a limit of average size halibut, with some in the 20-25lb range.  The weather wasn't as bad a forecasted but we did encounter some SW wind and a small swell.  We have the next two days off, so it's boat work and snagging for sockeye for the next two days.  Wednesday will be our next charter, so standby for pics and a report.  FISH ON!
